Town of the Week, 8th March 2012: Winslow

With its bustling Market Square and High Street, Winslow combines old world charm with unique attractions. Recognised by King Offa of Mercia as Wineshauue (“Wine’s Mound”) in 792 and by the Domesday Book as Weneslai in 1086, the town is surrounded by famous sites and National Trust properties.

Town of the week: 8th February 2012: St Ives, Cambs

This week’s AMT Town of the Week, St Ives, is a wonderful riverside town, tourist centre and thriving residential community, located on the banks of the river Great Ouse. The town has been a place of importance through the centuries with its Easter fair one of the busiest in England drawing crowds from all over Europe during the 1100s.
