Smaller towns have always suffered during policy development because there is no currently agreed government method for statistically separating them from other urban areas.
This should be addressed as a matter of urgency.
In a major effort to boost housing supply, dormant offices will be allowed to be transformed into new homes under proposals unveiled by Communities Secretary Eric Pickles.
A ‘barrier-busting’ team is being established by Communities and Local Government to help community groups get the backing they need when they encounter bureaucratic obstacles to local objectives.
