The Market Town Awards are an excellent way for people to raise the profile of their towns and the activities they have been involved in.

Our category winners (Social & Community, Business & Economy, Environment & Culture, Partnership & Strategic Working) have been invited to showcase their projects at one of eight regional events in June and July.

These Regional Awards Showcase Events are a chance for the winning towns to celebrate their projects and for other towns to learn how they could transfer these projects to benefit their own towns.

They will be hosted in each region by the regional winner of the 2009 Market Town Awards, and you will hear how they developed their acclaimed project, how this and their other projects have moved on since they won the award last year, the challenges they have faced and how they have overcome them.

The Regional Awards Showcase Events are sponsored by loyalty specialists Savvy UK Ltd who will also run a workshop at the event on the potential benefits of introducing a town loyalty scheme. The East Midlands event will also include a session about supermarkets and market towns, with participation by Sainsbury’s as one of AMT’s corporate members.

Come along and join in the excitement as one of the category winners is pronounced the 2010 regional winner. That town will then go on to present to a wider audience at the Action for Market Towns National Convention in Chippenham in October and go head-to-head with the other regional winners for the position of overall national winner.

The Regional Events will be FREE to AMT members, with a small fee for non members to cover costs.
