Basic employment law training

By • Apr 26th, 2010 • Category: Uncategorized

Do you have very few employees?

Are you concerned about making a mistake with these employees which could cost your organisation a lot of money?

Do you know what policies you must have in place?

Many partnerships, town councils, voluntary organisations and so on have just one or two employees.  These employees are generally managed by a body of people, who therefore collectively have the responsibility for ensuring the law in relation to employment is adhered to and all necessary procedures and policies are in place.  Too often, small organisations are unsure about the way Employment Law relates to them.  Ignorance in this area can be very costly and could lead to both a law suit and / or large  financial payouts.

Wherever you are in the country, if this is something you struggle with, help is at hand.   Action for Market Towns Academy in partnership with Hampshire County Council and Hampshire Association of Local Councils is putting on a taster session  in ‘The Basics of Employment Law’ for everyone involved with these issues.

Course Outcomes: Following this course you will be able to:

  • Identify the policies you MUST have in place
  • Know where to find the information you need to comply with Employment Law
  • Know what your responsibility as an employer is in relation to recruitment and appointment of an employee
  • Know how to deal with disciplinary issues
  • Understand the process required to dismiss an employee
  • Know what your responsibility is in relation to an employee leaving
