Ashbourne looks at town branding
By amtadmin • Nov 16th, 2009 • Category: News, frontpageDrawing inspiration from the Action for Market Towns Convention in Melton Mowbray, Ashbourne in Derbyshire is looking to develop a brand for the town.
Town councillors Steve Bull and Alan Hodkinson believe Ashbourne needs to showcase its most renowned assets and adopt a clear-cut identity to maximise the town’s marketing potential.
The calls were made at the latest town council meeting, after the two former mayors returned from the AMT conference in October.
Councillor Steve Bull said: “It was clear from the conference that Melton Mowbray has experienced success by marketing itself as the ‘Rural Food Capital of the Midlands’.
