Parliament sets up market traders’ forum
By amtadmin • Mar 18th, 2009 • Category: NewsA web forum has been set up to allow market traders to speak directly to the Communities and Local Government Parliamentary Committee inquiry into traditional retail markets.
The Committee Chairman, Dr Phyllis Starkey, said: “We want to hear from market traders because they are at the heart of our inquiry. We want to know whether your markets are thriving or in decline. What could be done, and by whom, to support your markets better? Is it becoming harder to run a market stall? Do market traders need more support, and if so in what ways and from whom?”

Action for Market Towns submitted a survey of its members to the inquiry. Click here for a summary.
